Hi, welcome back to 5 Minute Life Hacks. This is your host Natalia Ambrosia. And today we are walking and talking. I am all about simplifying life this year. And for me, walking and recording this episode is working a lot better than sitting in my apartment and getting angry at all the noises around. Here, I'm just embracing all the noise. So I encourage you to do the same and get up and go for a walk with me. So today's episode is about the insight you hindsight that you gain and at the end of this episode I'm going to give you a tip on how to gain that insight when you're not traveling.
So let's get started. I recently got back from a trip to London and I used to live in London. I lived there for 10 years with my ex-partner. I have a lot of friends and a lot of friends that feel like family. So every time I'm there, I have lots of invitations to do things. I'm still working so I bring my remote work with me. I'm going out a lot more than normal. I'm also jet lagged and it's just a lot going on. So I'm always feeling happy, tired, missing my boyfriend in LA, jet lagged and all the things.
But I realized... on my taxi ride to the airport as we were going through London City on a route that we normally don't go through. It was like all the touristy spots. I felt a sort of nostalgia for London and they all just hit me all the emotions. I started to feel happy about my experience. I felt a little bit sad. I felt overwhelmed about going back home. And I just started to feel it all. And the same thing continued on the plane. Even though I watched a few movies, I cried a few times during the movies, I realized that since I was sitting in stillness, my body was having this time to process these 10 days that I've just had, which doesn't often happen.
day and just let ourselves process everything that's gone on. Let insights and wisdom come in. I feel like a lot of us don't have time. We finish work, maybe we exercise, we scroll, we watch TV, and then it's often when we travel that we start to have these insights. And And so while I was there having my insights about my life, I'm doing too much, which is something that tends to come up a lot. For me, I want to relax more. I want to enjoy more. I want to see my friends in
A. more. I want to work a little bit less. I realized we need to be doing this processing on a daily basis. So This is what I encourage you to do at the end of each day. It's simple. before you go to bed, Sit up. Take a deep breath. and ask your body to process any energy or emotions or anything that's been left unprocessed for the day and just spend a few minutes. Honestly, even two minutes is better than nothing. Or even just after you finish work or after you finish any activity or meeting.
taking a moment to pause just like we do when we travel because it's not usually the traveling itself that's giving us insights. It is the journey there, the airplane, the car, the train, whatever it is, where we have a moment to sit in stillness that's giving us this insight. So if we did the same daily, we would be living a more connected life. Now I have recorded a And you can listen to that. There's a link in this episode. But you can also just do it before bed. Spend a few moments breathing and asking your body to do its thing and process without letting your mind get involved.
And you'd be surprised. The body knows. The body knows what to do. So with that, I'll leave you. And I hope you've enjoyed our little walk. Thank you for joining me. As always, I love hearing from you at Natalia Ambrosia on Instagram, at Natalia Ambrosia Wellness on TikTok. soon. Bye!
